Mozart Requiem, Colston Hall, Oct 2010
Claire is delighted to have been engaged as soprano soloist in the Mozart Requiem, October 2nd, as part of the City of Bristol Choir's 20th anniversary celebrations.
Accompanied by the Bristol Ensemble and conducted by David Ogden, this special concert will take place at the newly renovated Colston Hall- the largest concert Hall in the South West.
Bristol Cathedral Choir School, Sep 2010
Claire is also delighted to have been appointed Classical Singing Teacher at Bristol Cathedral Choir School.
This exciting new position will build upon the already thriving private teaching practise that she has been running in Clifton, Bristol for several years.
She very much looks forward to meeting her new pupils in September and is keen to pass on her knowledge, experience and love of music to hopefully inspire others to achieve.

Twilight Delights: Canary Wharf Opera Gala, Aug 2010
Final preparations are underway for 'Twilight Delights: A Night of Romantic Opera' at Canada Square Park, Canary Wharf, London, where Claire is to feature as the soprano soloist.
Admission to this spectacular summer evening event is free, so why not pack up a picnic and enjoy some beautiful classical music on a summers evening!

David Syrus Masterclass, May 2010
Claire was recently chosen from a large number of auditioned opera singers to participate in a 3 day series of masterclasses led by David Syrus, head of music at the Royal Opera House.
David chose some challenging repertoire for Claire including a scene as Sophie in Der Rosencavalier, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni and Siegrune in Die Walkure. He commended Claire on being a 'cultured artist with a top of real quality'.

UK Tour: Whirling and Romancing!, 2010/11
Claire is currently enjoying a UK tour of 3 separate productions for Opera Box. 'A Viennese Whirl' and 'A Night of Romantic Opera' with Orchestra under Fraser Goulding, and 'Mozartissimo' with wind trio.
Highlights have included performances at some of the most exquisite stately homes, outdoor stages and theatres in the UK, including the oldest working theatre- The Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond.
Swansea City Opera- Pearl Fisher's Tour 2010
Claire is delighted to have been informed that she will sing the title role of Leila in Swansea City Opera's 2010 production of Bizet's Pecheurs de Perles. The opera, to be performed in English translation, will extensively tour the UK, playing at approximately 30 theatres and will premiere at the Buxton Opera House on February 7th.
Asia/UAE tour- European Chamber Opera, Nov 2009
Claire has just returned from an extensive tour of Asia and the UAE in European Chamber Opera's production of Cosi Fan Tutte- singing the role of Dorabella for the first time. The tour was a massive success- and attracted a lot of media attention as the first opera ever to be performed in Kuwait.
Claire will perform the role of Michaela in Bizet's Carmen for ECHO in Dubai in 2010.

European Tour - 2007
Claire is currently touring Europe singing the role of Donna Anna in Diva Opera's 2007 production of Don Giovanni. The tour will commence on the 6th March at the Stationers Hall, London and tour Europe until December.

Claire to sing with Jose Carreras in London Opera Gala, Nov 2006
Claire has been engaged to sing the role of Rosalina in the famous act 2 party scene from Strauss' Die Fledermaus, alongside Jose Carreras. The exclusive one-off concert, hosted by Sir John Major, is in aid of the Renton Foundation and Mencap and will take place at the Great Hall in Lincolns Inn on 29 November 2006.
Update: Claire is to perform with Jose Carreras once again in 2007, in the party scene from La Traviata. The special one off event will take place at the Plaisterers Hall, London on 13 June.

Claire Groom wins a coveted BBC Fame Academy Bursary - Dec 2005
Claire Groom has beaten nearly 1000 applicants to win a BBC Fame Academy Bursary worth £37,500.
The Fame academy bursaries were set up two years ago from the profits generated from record sales and phone lines on the popular BBC series to develop outstanding new musical talent.
Rock legend Paul McCartney who is a trustee on the Fame Academy Board said:
"This is a fantastic way to give really talented young musicians throughout the UK the chance to develop their musical skills".
The prize will help to fund and promote her for next 3 years.
Claire is thrilled to have won, and she is looking forward to spending some time in Italy and gaining some expert coaching with International Sopranos.

L'Elisir D'Amore/Gianni Schicchi European Tour - 2006
Claire is currently undertaking a year-long European tour singing the roles of Adina (L'Elisir D'Amore) and Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi) for Diva Opera. She will perform extensively in the UK, France, Channel Islands and Switzerland on the tour which concludes in December.

Handel Messiah - Forbidden City Concert Hall Beijing - Sep 2006
Claire has been invited to sing Handel's Messiah in the Forbidden City Concert Hall, Beijing conducted by Brian Kaye in October 2006.
She last performed the work for the Really Big Chorus under Sir David Willcocks as her Royal Albert Hall debut in 2004.

Mozart Requiem - Royal Albert Hall - May 2006
Claire recently returned to the Royal Albert Hall to perform Mozart's Requiem with Sir David Willcocks and a chorus of 3000. The performance was to mark 250 years of Mozart.
